At Green Life Generation, we believe we can reform overconsumption through returning to local community and woman empowerment. That means products handmade from start to finish. Partnering with Sri Lankan garment factories to source their unused fabrics. Employing female artisans while addressing their employment barriers such as childcare and education. It’s a new way of doing things. We call it radical circularity.
Our Product Lifecycle
All of the upcycled products are sourced, produced, and marketed from our local community. Take a look at how our life cycle forms a circular economy.
Collection from Communities
We mobilize local communities to collect trash in exchange for daily neccessities including childcare and second-hand clothing.
Collection from Garment Factories
We also collaborates with other business partners, such as garment factories and different manufacturers to collect their unwanted fabrics.
Cleaning & Sorting
We clean and sanitize the collected waste for quality assurance. We then sort products to be distributed back to the community, fabric fupcycling for patchwork,
Upcycling
Based on the materials collected, our designers and craftsmen will upcycle them into different products, including patchworks, cushions, toys, and other useful products.

I Am Upcycled" is our product brand under Green Life Generation. For 7 years and counting, this initiative of Green Life Generation has been crafting upcycled gifts and packaging, contributing to the livelihoods of local women in the village of Kengalle.

In the initial days of the COVID-19 curfew, many families were left without savings or able to feed their families. In order to provide short term relief, Green Life Generation started an initiative called “Let’s Feed a Village” where we were able to raise over 220,000 lkr to provide over 100 families with food and supplies to last between one to two weeks.

Through our Bincoin system, customers can exchange their waste for points, which can then be used for shopping at the Green Life Boutique. Discover a curated selection of second-hand clothes, take advantage of daycare facilities, or unwind with a cup of coffee at the Green Life Cafe – all while contributing to a greener, more sustainable future.
